The Impact Committee and its resulting Foundation was born as a byproduct of meetings held in 2009. As a community of Lennox dealers, we wanted to give back to the communities we serve. Our committee discussed many ideas and concepts, all with the theme of wanting to impact our communities, the ones that have supported us throughout the years.
There were many reasons to help our communities beyond the support they gave us: Times were challenging; many community members were struggling economically as a result of a stagnant economy. We wanted to thank and help active-duty and retired military personnel. And, we wanted to thank our community volunteers and leaders. For these reasons we founded the Heat U.P. Wisconsin program.
But we still wanted more! We wanted to help the HVAC community, too – our “home base” – with a program that would keep the HVAC industry flourishing in the future. We wanted to promote the many opportunities that exist in this “noble service profession.” But to do that, we needed funds and support from Lennox and dealers.
And, oh how everyone has responded! Fundraising has been ongoing, led by the Women in Lennox Leadership Committee (“WiLL”). Enough money has been raised to offer 3 to 5 Impact Foundation Scholarships for two periods (3/15 and 9/15). Each scholarship amount can total up to $2,000.
And, we’re not done yet. As our Foundation gets more established and raises more funds, we plan to widen the net of educational and career-building opportunities we can provide to new and continuing HVAC tradespeople. We’ll keep you in the loop!
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship please follow and complete the three steps listed below (before the deadline of March 15 for spring conference and September 15th for fall conference).
